Eastlake's Wang, Alston finish 2-3 at state golf meet

Eastlake's Li Wang earned the highest state finish of his career Wednesday afternoon, placing second at the 4A state golf tournament.  The sophomore shot a 1-over par, 73 on the final day giving him a two-day total of 71-73–144.

Eastlake's senior captain Evan Alston also had a career performance at state. Alston finished in a three-way tie for third with a two-day total of 71-74–145.

The Wolves' other golfer, freshman Spencer Weiss, placed 34th overall with a combined 78-79–157.

The trio gave Eastlake 89 team points, placing them second behind Bellarmine Prep (95.5) and ahead of Richland (87).

2010 - 2011
9-30-10  The sun shone brightly at Sahalee on Thursday afternoon as the Wolves dominated the Inglemoor Vikings 191 to 214 to push their season record to 8-0-0.  Li Wang took medalist honors with an even par 36 and the top 5 scores were all below 40. Sweet !

9-28-10  The Wolves found Freddy Couple’s home course to their liking on Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Garfield Bulldogs 184 to 220 at Jefferson Park.  Senior Evan Alston led the pack as medalist with a 2 under par 34, backed up by Li Wang and Spencer Weiss at even par 36.   The wolves remain undefeated in match play this year at  7- 0- 0.

9-23-10  The rain stopped just in time to allow the Eastlake Wolves to topple the previously undefeated Skyline Spartans 194 to 212.  RP McCoy and Li Wang were Co-Medalists with a pair of even par 36's.  The team remains undefeated.


2009 - 2010
Washington State High School Golf Tournament
As a freshment, Li Wang placed 8th at the Washington State High  School Tournament this year with scores of 73 and 74.  Congratulations Li!

Despite a constant downpour, the Wolves handily beat the Issaquah Eagles at Sahalee on Thursday 193 to 211.  Spencer Weiss was match medalist with a score of 37.

9-1-10  Eastlake dominated Newport in their season opener at Newcastle.  The top 5 all had scores under 40.  Freshman Spencer Weiss recorded a 2 under par 34 for medalist honors.  On the par 5, 8th hole, Paul Roussos scored an Eagle.  Way to start the season!

8-31-10  The Wolves played in the 1st Annual Bear Creek Invitational and beat Woodinville, Skyline, and Redmond.  Li Wang took medalist honors with a 2 under par score of 34.

8-26-10 Team tryouts were held the last week of August.  A three day qualifier was played at Mt Si and Sahalee Golf Courses.  Competition was stiff for the few remaining spots.  Congratulations to new and returning team members.  You earned it!  See Roster for list of players
