2023-2024 Season HighlightsLink to KingCo Standings Week of August 28 Last week the Eastlake Golf program held try-outs over two days of 18 holes per day. The following players made the team: Aidan Ballman (11) Noah Finch (12) Michael Franz (12) Guarav Godse (9) Peyton Hare (11) Kellan Lester (12) Elliot Ro (10) Rishabh Singh (12) Boston Tangeman (9) Kaelan Williams (10) Cyrus Zander (12) The Wolves hosted the Newport Knights at Sahalee CC and lost 200-203. A good first outing for the Wolves. Sophomore Elliot Ro was the medalist with a 36 on the north coarse at Sahalee. He was followed by Kaelan Williams, Rishabh Singh, and Michael Franz who all posted a score of 41. Cyrus Zander rounded out the top five with a score of 44. Week of September 11 The Boys Golf Team traveled to Echo Falls on Monday to take on the Woodinville Falcons and defeated the Falcons 197 to 213. Top five scorers for the Wolves: Aidan Ballman, Noah Finch and Cyrus Zander all shot 40, Elliot Ro shot 39 and the match medalist was Kaelan Williams with a solid 38. On Tuesday the Wolves hosted Skyline and defeated the Spartans 200 (strokes) to 213 (strokes) on the East course at Sahalee CC. Top fives scorers for the Wolves: Michael Franz (44), Rishabh Singh (42), Aiden Ballman (39), Kaelan Williams (38), and the match medalist was Elliot Ro with a very nice score of 37. Week of September 18 The Boys Golf Team traveled to Snoqualmie Falls on Monday to take on the Issaquah Eagles and lost 194-186. Top five scores for the Wolves: Owen Hyatt, Kaelan Williams and Aiden Ballman tied for low at 38 and Elliot Ro and Rishabh Singh scored 40. On Tuesday the Wolves hosted Bothell at Sahalee (South Course) and defeated the Cougars 202-206. Noah Finch had the low score for the Wolves with a 39 and he was followed by Elliot Ro and Kaelan Williams who shot 40. Rishabh Singh shot 41 and Aiden Ballman shot a 42. On Thursday the Wolves traveled to Inglewood Country Club where they defeated the Vikings 197 to 207. We had some outstanding performances on a very challenging course. The Wolves were led by sophomore Elliot Ro who was low for the Wolves with a 38. He was closely followed by Rishabh Singh and Owen Hyatt who shot 39. The top five also included Kaelan Williams who shot 40 and Aiden Ballman and Noah Finch who shot 41 each. On Tuesday the Wolves have their final home match where we will honor the following seniors vs. Mount Si: Noah Finch, Michael Franz, Owen Hyatt, Kellan Lester, Rishabh Singh and Cyrus Zander. Week of Sept 25 The Eastlake Boys Golf team hosted a very good Mount Si team on Monday and came out on top by a score of 199 to 208. Sophomore Elliot Ro was the medalist (low score of match) with an even par 36 on the south course at Sahalee CC. Elliot was followed by Aiden Ballman (39), seniors Cyrus Zander and Rishabh Singh each shot 41 and senior Owen Hyatt shot 42! On Wednesday the Wolves traveled to Lynnwood GC and defeated North Creek by a score of 179 to 190 for the Jaguars. Medalist was senior Michael Franz with a two over par 35! Michael was followed by Rishabh Singh, Aiden Ballman and Elliot Ro each shooting a score of 35. The scoring was rounded out by Kaelan Williams with 37. On Monday the Wolves travel to The Plateau Club to take on the Spartans in The Plateau Cup challenge! Week of October 2nd On Monday, the Wolves traveled to The Plateau Club to take on the Skyline Spartans in the 2023 Plateau Cup matches. The following Wolves won their matches: Aiden Ballman, Kaelan Williams, Michael Franz, Owen Hyatt, Cyrus Zander and Kellan Lester. The Wolves retained the cup and hope to hold onto it for a few years! On Thursday, the Wolves traveled to Bear Creek CC to take on the Redmond Mustangs. The Wolves defeated the Mustangs 213-231. Elliot Ro was the medalist with a 40 and was closely followed by Owen Hyatt with a 41. Other top scorers were Noah Finch with a 43 and Kaelan Williams and Kellen Lester each shot 44. The Wolves travel to Snohomish next week for the KingCo Medalist Tournament on Tuesday and Thursday in striving to earn a bid to the 4A State Golf Tournament in May of 2024! Week of October 9 The boys golf team played in the KingCo medalist tournament this past Tuesday and Thursday and placed fourth out of 10 4A teams. They missed a chance to go to state by one stroke! Elliot Ro shot rounds of 74/73 (15 strokes better than last year for Elliot!) and was an individual qualifier to the 2024 state tournament. Elliot was 4th overall and also named first team All-KingCo Senior Owen Hyatt came up big-time with rounds of 77/78 and will be the first alternate for the 2024 state tournament. Owen was honorable mention in KingCo league honors! Senior Rishabh Singh shot rounds of 86/82. Kaelan Williams shot rounds of 83/79. Aiden Ballman shot rounds of 79/83 to round out the line-up. The team took 2nd over-all in league play and 4th in the medalist tournament. |

** Boys’ Golf – KingCo Champs and KingCo Tournament Champs! ** ********************* Headed to STATE!!! ************************ *********************************************************************** The boys golf team had a great week by winning the KingCo Medalist Tournament, a 36-hole grind where they displayed Determination, Resiliency and Grit. On Tuesday, the boys played as a team of five and brought frosh Kaelan Williams, who played as an individual and barely missed the cut by one, shooting a very respectable 83. In TEAM play, where the best four scores of five count for the team, the team shot a 299. Frosh Elliot Ro shot 82, co-captain Chris Zamani finished with 12 straight pars to shoot 78, Johnny Fitzgibbons shot 77, Luke Schlecht shot 75 with a beautiful birdie on 18 and senior co-captain Nathan Yocam came out of day one in second by shooting 69! The Wolves were down one stroke to Issaquah 299 to 298. On Thursday (day two of the tourney), the determined Wolves went to work. Elliot Ro improved two strokes to shoot 80, Luke Schlecht shot 80 and had an eagle 3 on the par five 7th hole. Chris Zamani improved three strokes from day one and shot 75. Johnny “Houdini” Fitzgibbons shot a very hard-earned 75 and Nathan Yocam showed some real mental toughness and shot another 69 (31 on the back nine) and was the low over-all score and medalist with an impressive 138!! Nathan was very impressive in the final group by walking-in a 35 foot EAGLE Putt on number 18 where the gallery was heard through-out the entire golf course when it exploded into applause! The Team will head to the WIAA 4A State Tournament in Spokane May 23 & 24, 2023 Congratulations to the 2022 KingCo Champ Eastlake Wolves! Their improvement over the past year and especially over the past nine weeks has been impressive! #WSPS #Champions #Respectallfearnone #Headedtostate! 9/8/2022- Eastlake Defeats Inglemoor @ Sahalee CC The Eastlake Wolves defeated Inglemoor 200 to 238 in their first league match of the season! Nathan Yocum was the medalist shooting a score of 38. Elliot Ro, Johnny Fitzgibbons, Chris Zamani and Luke Schlecht had their scores counted in the win. Congrats to the team on their first win of the season! 9/13/2022- Eastlake Over Skyline @ Plateau CC The Eastlake Wolves won in a well-played match against rivals Skyline by a score of 201 to 213. This was the Wolve's second league match of the season. Nathan Yocum was the medalist for a second straight match, shooting a score of 37 on a tough golf course. Johnny Fitzgibbons, Chris Zamani, Aedan Ballman and Cyrus Zander had their scores counted in the win. Congrats to the team on their second win of the season! 9/15/2022- Eastlake Defeats Woodinville @ Home The Eastlake Wolves turned in their best team performance of the year so far with a dominant victory over Woodinville at the Wolve's home course, Sahalee CC. The score was 193 to 230. This was the Wolve's third league match of the season. Nathan Yocum medaled for the third straight match, shooting a score of even par 36. Johnny Fitzgibbons, Elliot Ro, Chris Zamani, Kaelan Williams and Luke Schlect had their scores counted in the win. Congrats to the team on a decisive third win of the season! 9/20/2022- Eastlake Over Bothell @ Redmond Ridge The Eastlake Wolves were victorious competing against Bothell in an away match at Redmond Ridge. The score was 187 to 211. This was the Wolve's fourth league match of the season. Chris Zamani was the medalist shooting a score of one under par 34. Nathan Yocum, Johnny Fitzgibbons, Luke Schlect and Kaelan Williams had their scores counted in the win. Congrats to the team on another decisive win! 9/22/2022- Eastlake defeats Issaquah @ Sahalee CC The Eastlake Wolves played another strong match on their home course, resulting in a win against Issaquah. The score was 200 to 220. This was the Wolve's fifth league match of the season. Nathan Yocum medaled, shooting a score of one under par 35. Johnny Fitzgibbons, Bryce Johnson, Chris Zamani and Elliot Ro had their scores counted in the win. Congrats on another Wolves team win! 9/27/2022- Eastlake victorious against Mt. Si @ Snoqualmie Ridge The Eastlake Wolves continue to show their strength and depth in their latest win against Mt. Si. The score was 187 to 202. Players throughout the roster are turning in low scores that are counted as the winning streak continues. Nathan Yocum was the medalist again shooting a score of one under par 35. Kaelan Williams, Chris Zamani, Bryce Johnson and Luke Schlecht had their scores counted in the win. Great Wolves team win! Go Wolves! 9/29/2022- Eastlake defeats North Creek @ Sahalee CC The Eastlake Wolves once again showed their incredible depth in a convincing win over North Creek at their home course! The score was 196 to 234. Johnny Fitzgibbons was the medalist shooting a score of 38! Nathan Yocum, Noah Finch, Chris Zamani and Luke Schlecht had their scores counted in the win. Congratulations to the Wolves on another strong win! 10/03/2022- Eastlake defeated by Newport @ Newcastle GC The Eastlake Wolves suffered their first loss of the season in a close match against Newport at Newcastle GC. The score was 187 to 190. Chris Zamani turned in the low score for Eastlake, shooting a two under par 34. Johnny Fitzgibbons, Nathan Yocum, Bryce Johnson, Luke Wiljanen and Kaelan Williams had their scores counted in the match. 10/06/2022- Eastlake over Redmond @ Sahalee CC The Eastlake Wolves pulled out a win in a tight match against Redmond at the Wolves home course. The score was 202 to 208. The team had to reach deep for the victory, again showing great depth! Luke Schlecht turned in the low score for Eastlake, shooting a two over par 38. Chris Zamani, Johnny Fitzgibbons, Luke Wiljanen and Nathan Yocum had their scores counted in the match. Great win for the Wolves! |
